The origin of the name Joy Division is from the 1955 novel The House of Dolls. In this book, women were forced to work as prostitutes in Nazi concentration camps. Following in that vein, New Order was taken from Hitler's book, Mein Kampf: "the new order of the Third Reich". The band has no fascist or Nazi sympathies, they really thought the names would have no negative connotations New Order bridged New Wave styles with Alternative Dance and House music. They released singles like Blue Monday, The Perfect Kiss and Bizarre Love Triangle that were charted on the alternative and dance charts. Love Triangle has had some stamina as a club song, being covered by alternative bands such as Even As We Speak, Manitu, Devine and Statton, South, Rookie of the Year, Apoptygma Berzerk, Charlotte Martin and Stabbing Westward.
