Girls Keep Secrets in the Strangest Ways - Ephemera, 2003
If you quit, if you start If you stop, if you begin [Chorus x2] Ephemera is a Norwegian pop trio who have stuck together since childhood. They formed in 1994, and only started to gain any notoriety in 2000. That year, they released their album Sun, and a catchy single named Happy, Grateful, Aware. The song was featured on the Olsen twins' soundtrack CD, Getting There. However, fame didn't truly find Jannicke Larsen, Inger-Lise Størksen and Christine Sandtorv until the follow-up album, Air, in 2003. The single, Girls Keep Secrets in the Strangest Ways, is to date their biggest hit, putting them on the international map. It was also featured on the soundtrack of the 2005 movie, These Girls. The plot in a nutshell, is three girls blackmail a slightly older, but married hunk into having sex with them. I am not making this up. It stars David Boreanz, from the TV series Angel. If you're wondering what Ephemera actually means, it is defined as "a short-lived thing" or "something transitory; lasting a day". Ironically planned or not, the girls are well into their second decade together as Ephemera. Here they are, live and in person, on youtube. |
