There have been many versions of Batman over the years, but the campy 1960s TV show was by far the most fun. Starring Adam West as Batman, and Burt Ward as Robin, it was more of a comedy than a drama. Watching the re-runs years later, I understood the humour - but as a 12 year old boy, I took it quite seriously! I would even dress up as Robin for Halloween.

Looking back in a nostalgic mood, I decided to try and capture some of the magic of my childhood. If you've seen the show, you'll remember the cartoon words that came up during the fight sequences. The big "POW", in this case, has been made into a rooftop sign.

The "Boy Wonder" is portrayed apprehending The Penguin, (played by Burgess Meredith in the original show), who has just stolen a large bag of money... and for a joke, I placed a Nike logo on Robin's distinctive shoes!
